Paint by Numbers and Diamond Painting from Your Own Photo
A wedding photo, a pet, a holiday memory or a favourite landscape – your own photo can become a painting that you make yourself. There are two techniques to choose from: paint by numbers is done with paints and a brush, diamond painting with small acrylic drills. Neither needs artistic skills, because the canvas tells you which colour goes where.

Paint by numbers or diamond painting?
- Custom paint by numbers: a numbered canvas, a colour chart, acrylic paints and brushes. The result looks like a painting. A good choice if you enjoy using a brush and want to paint at your own pace.
- Custom diamond painting: a printed canvas, drills, a pen, tweezers, wax and a tray. The finished picture sparkles in the light, and no paints are needed. A good choice if you enjoy precise, detailed work. You can choose round or square drills.

What kind of photo works?
- Sharp and well lit: a photo taken in daylight works best.
- Main subject large: faces and important details stand out when they fill a large part of the picture.
- Calm background: with a simple background, the main subject stands out better.
- The original file: the original photo from your phone is better than a screenshot or a picture compressed by a messaging app.

Which size should I choose?
The more details or people there are in the photo, the larger the size you should choose. On a larger canvas faces and small details come out better: paint by numbers areas are bigger and a diamond painting has more drills. For group and family photos, choose a large size. A painting from your own photo is a gift you can't buy ready-made. You can give it unpainted, so that painting it is part of the gift, or paint it yourself first. Can a painting be made from any photo?
From almost any photo: portraits, pets, wedding photos and landscapes. The best result comes from a sharp photo in which the main subject is large. We check every photo before production.
Do I need painting experience?
No. In paint by numbers every area of the canvas is numbered, and each number has its own paint. In diamond painting the symbols tell you which drill goes where.
