This portrait is famous for its raw emotion and the vibrant Japanese print seen in the background—a nod to the artistic influences that shaped Van Gogh's unique style. Now, you can explore every layer of this hauntingly beautiful masterpiece by painting it yourself.

With a high-detail palette of 43 pre-mixed acrylic colors, this Paint by Numbers kit allows you to master the bold contrasts and atmospheric textures that make Van Gogh’s work so legendary.

How to get started

  1. Preparation: Check that the package contains all the supplies. Have a glass of water and paper towels nearby for cleaning brushes.
  2. Work order: Start from the top of the canvas and work downwards. This way, you avoid your hand touching wet paint as the work progresses.
  3. One color at a time: Paint all areas of the same number at once. Keep paint cups closed when not in use to prevent acrylic paint from drying.
  4. Brush maintenance: Wash and dry the brush thoroughly each time you change colors. If light paint doesn't cover the number, let it dry and add another layer.
