Otter by Riverbank

This paint by numbers features an otter lying on rocks at the edge of a lush riverbank, looking directly at you. The scene includes green grasses, mossy stones, and reflections on the water. Earthy browns and greys dominate the otter's fur, while greens and blues add depth to the background. Painting the water’s reflections and the otter’s detailed whiskers offers a satisfying challenge. Ideal for anyone who enjoys animals or wants to practice painting natural textures and fine details.

Paint by numbers is a relaxing way to create real art — no prior experience needed. Follow the numbered areas, and you'll have a finished painting ready to frame. Perfect for unwinding after work or as a mindful weekend project.

How to get started

  1. Preparation: Check that the package contains all the supplies. Have a glass of water and paper towels nearby for cleaning brushes.
  2. Work order: Start from the top of the canvas and work downwards. This way, you avoid your hand touching wet paint as the work progresses.
  3. One color at a time: Paint all areas of the same number at once. Keep paint cups closed when not in use to prevent acrylic paint from drying.
  4. Brush maintenance: Wash and dry the brush thoroughly each time you change colors. If light paint doesn't cover the number, let it dry and add another layer.
