A moose stands in a still lake, water trickling from its muzzle. Golden birches, red shrubs and dark spruces line the shore, and the whole autumn forest repeats as a reflection on the water. The scene is built like a stained glass window, with even the sky cut into blue panes.

Black and near-black outlines separate every pane, so thin lines run across the whole canvas like the lead strips of a real window. The sky and lake fill in as large blue and dark blue pieces. The most detailed spots are the broad antlers and the drops falling from the muzzle.

How to get started

  1. Preparation: Check that the package contains all the supplies. Have a glass of water and paper towels nearby for cleaning brushes.
  2. Work order: Start from the top of the canvas and work downwards. This way, you avoid your hand touching wet paint as the work progresses.
  3. One color at a time: Paint all areas of the same number at once. Keep paint cups closed when not in use to prevent acrylic paint from drying.
  4. Brush maintenance: Wash and dry the brush thoroughly each time you change colors. If light paint doesn't cover the number, let it dry and add another layer.
