Steep green slopes plunge into a deep blue fjord, and a slender waterfall drops from the cliffs beneath snow-capped peaks. On the rocky shore in front, a dense stand of lupins blooms in pink, purple, magenta and white. The most demanding part shows in the flower spikes, where every small petal is its own area.

Lupin spikes alternate light and dark petals in tight rows, and the palm-shaped leaves below them split into many narrow points. The dark blue fjord water, built from four shades, fills in as broad areas, broken only by the pale streaks of the waterfall's reflection.

How to get started

  1. Preparation: Check that the package contains all the supplies. Have a glass of water and paper towels nearby for cleaning brushes.
  2. Work order: Start from the top of the canvas and work downwards. This way, you avoid your hand touching wet paint as the work progresses.
  3. One color at a time: Paint all areas of the same number at once. Keep paint cups closed when not in use to prevent acrylic paint from drying.
  4. Brush maintenance: Wash and dry the brush thoroughly each time you change colors. If light paint doesn't cover the number, let it dry and add another layer.
