Dachshund on Window Bench

This paint by numbers features a brown dachshund curled up and sleeping on a cushioned window bench. A chunky gray knit blanket and a potted plant sit nearby, adding cozy indoor details. Outside the large window, snow falls gently over a quiet cityscape with bare trees. The mix of soft browns, grays, and subtle winter blues offers engaging color contrasts and interesting textures to paint. Ideal for dog lovers and anyone who enjoys painting homely, realistic scenes.

Paint by numbers is a relaxing way to create real art — no prior experience needed. Follow the numbered areas, and you'll have a finished painting ready to frame. Perfect for unwinding after work or as a mindful weekend project.

How to get started

  1. Preparation: Check that the package contains all the supplies. Have a glass of water and paper towels nearby for cleaning brushes.
  2. Work order: Start from the top of the canvas and work downwards. This way, you avoid your hand touching wet paint as the work progresses.
  3. One color at a time: Paint all areas of the same number at once. Keep paint cups closed when not in use to prevent acrylic paint from drying.
  4. Brush maintenance: Wash and dry the brush thoroughly each time you change colors. If light paint doesn't cover the number, let it dry and add another layer.
