Under a blue umbrella, a lone figure walks the wet quay, its reflection stretched beneath it. Rain glazes the whole Corricella waterfront: pink, yellow and red houses climb the hillside towards a domed church, and their colours run down the paving in long streaks. Along the edge, a row of blue-and-white boats rests beneath grey covers.

Fishing nets with their small white floats, together with the thin stripes on the boats, hold the most detailed painting. The grey-blue sea, grey paving, beige walls and the tall red facade move faster as broad, even areas of colour.

How to get started

  1. Preparation: Check that the package contains all the supplies. Have a glass of water and paper towels nearby for cleaning brushes.
  2. Work order: Start from the top of the canvas and work downwards. This way, you avoid your hand touching wet paint as the work progresses.
  3. One color at a time: Paint all areas of the same number at once. Keep paint cups closed when not in use to prevent acrylic paint from drying.
  4. Brush maintenance: Wash and dry the brush thoroughly each time you change colors. If light paint doesn't cover the number, let it dry and add another layer.
