Orange and violet sunset light streaks the sky above snowy peaks outside a wooden window. Below lies an alpine village of snow-laden chalets, spruces and a church tower with an onion dome. On the sill stand a red mug of cocoa with whipped cream and cinnamon, and a plate of iced gingerbread stars and hearts.

Village houses and the church hold the smallest areas, where snowy roofs, windows and chimneys change tone in quick succession. The sky moves in broad orange and dark blue bands, and the mountain slopes fill large sections in dark blue and petrol blue.

How to get started

  1. Preparation: Check that the package contains all the supplies. Have a glass of water and paper towels nearby for cleaning brushes.
  2. Work order: Start from the top of the canvas and work downwards. This way, you avoid your hand touching wet paint as the work progresses.
  3. One color at a time: Paint all areas of the same number at once. Keep paint cups closed when not in use to prevent acrylic paint from drying.
  4. Brush maintenance: Wash and dry the brush thoroughly each time you change colors. If light paint doesn't cover the number, let it dry and add another layer.
