Paint by numbers and diamond painting kits — mostly made in-house.

paintbynumbers.eu sells paint by numbers and diamond painting kits, both as ready-made designs and as custom kits made from the customer’s own photo. Most products are made in-house at the company’s own 250 square metre facility in Finland: canvases are printed on a large-format printer, over 450 colours of diamond painting drills are sorted by hand, and every custom order is designed individually. Materials are sourced, but the finished product is made on site. The shop has delivered over 20,000 orders across Europe and received over 1,655 customer reviews. All orders ship from an EU warehouse with no customs charges and delivery in 1–8 working days.

From basement to business

We looked at the paint by numbers and diamond painting industry and saw the same thing everywhere: almost everyone just dropships from China. Long delivery times, a gamble on quality, and if something goes wrong — good luck reaching customer service. “Why can’t someone do this properly?”

So we started small. A batch of standard kits in an outsourced warehouse. Then came the idea: what if we made custom products ourselves? So we ordered a large-format printer, a tonne of diamonds and first 300, later 600 colours of acrylic paint — all crammed into a 20 square metre storage room in Tuomas’s basement.

That’s where it began. Two best friends in a windowless concrete bunker, 18-hour days, up to 50 orders going out daily. Tight fit, but business was good.

Today we have a proper 250 square metre facility in Finland, complete with loading doors and actual windows — no more packing in a gloomy concrete cube. Tuomas’s wife Laura joined the team to run the warehouse and logistics. But there’s still just three of us — and we want to keep it that way. Every order goes through our hands. We design, pack and ship every order. Most products are also made by us — we source the materials, but the finished product is made in our hands. We know exactly what goes into each parcel, because we put it there ourselves.
